‘American Idol’ Top 9 To Sing Songs From Their Idols

Next week, on Wednesday, March 28 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top Nine – DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Elise Testone – return to the IDOL stage to sings songs from their own Idols.

Tune in the following night, Thursday, March 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) to the live results show to find out which of the Top Nine finalists is sent home. In addition, Nicki Minaj will take the stage and perform her megahit “Starships” and Season 10 IDOL winner and platinum-selling country artist Scotty McCreery will return to perform his newest single, “Water Tower Town.”

‘American Idol’ Top 10 To Sing Songs Of Billy Joel

Shannon Magrane was eliminated tonight on AMERICAN IDOL after she received the fewest votes among the finalists. On Wednesday’s dramatic performance show, in which contestants sang songs from the year they were born, it was revealed that Jermaine Jones was disqualified. On tonight’s results show, Demi Lovato sang her latest hit “Give Your Heart A Break” and Daughtry returned to the IDOL stage and performed their megahit “Outta My Head.”

Next week, on Wednesday, March 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 10 – DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt – will take to the IDOL stage to perform songs of Billy Joel for America’s votes!

Tune in the following night, Thursday, March 22 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) to the live results show to find out which Top 10 finalist is sent home. In addition, Lana Del Ray will take the stage and perform her latest hit “Video Games” and Season 10 IDOL finalist, Haley Reinhart will return to perform her new single “Free.”

Demi Lovato To Perform On ‘American Idol’ This week

Demi Lovato has been added to the performance lineup for this week’s American Idol results show.

Lovato and Idol alum Daughtry will hit the Idol stage on Thursday, March 15.

On Wednesday, March 14, the remaining finalists will perform songs from the year they were born under the advisement of Jimmy Iovine and will.i.am.

Breaking: Jermaine Jones Kicked Off ‘American Idol’ For Concealing Criminal Record

VIA TMZ: A contestant on “American Idol” will be kicked off the show Wednesday because the singer concealed multiple crimes from producers … TMZ has learned. Sources connected with the show tell us … the contestant — one of the final 12 — was charged with 2 crimes in 2011, one involving violence.  We’re told in both cases the contestant gave a fake name to cops when arrested. In addition, we’re told the contestant has outstanding warrants — again, the singer concealed it from producers. We’re told the contestant was confronted with the information on camera today and the footage will air on Wednesday’s show.

UPDATE: Jermaine tweeted on his official American Idol account, “Awww I will no longer b on the show.”
